We've been producing Farm-Crafted Compost™ in collaboration with several Vermont farms since 1996. Using 100% dairy and horse manure, we create optimum conditions for beneficial compost organisms to transform these raw ingredients into a superior soil amendment.
Unlike some agricultural composts which are simply "aged" manure, the "turned-windrow" composting method we use ensures the high temperatures and optimum conditions needed to kill weed seeds and pathogens. Having a pleasant, earthy aroma, Farm-Crafted Compost is ideal for vegetables, flowers, trees, shrubs and lawns. It is also approved for use on organic farms by the Vermont Organic Farmers (VOF) certification organization.

Topsoil Plus - Raised Bed Mix™ is a weed-free, ready-to-plant blend of Farm-Crafted Compost (60% by volume), virgin silt (30%), coarse sand (2%), and agricultural-grade granulated charcoal (8%).
This product is specially formulated for filling raised beds that will be used to grow vegetables.
Although the Raised Bed Mix contains about 60% compost by volume, because the nitrogen in compost is released slowly over multiple growing seasons, each cubic yard also comes with 1 lb of Pro-Booster organic fertilizer (made by North Country Organics). Mixing this into the top 3 to 6 inches after the bed is filled using an application rate of 1 to 2 cups for each 4 ft x 8 ft (32 sq ft) bed will ensure there's sufficient nitrogen immediately available for fast growing vegetables.
Topsoil Plus - Raised Bed Mix™ is approved for use on organic farms by the Vermont Organic Farmers (VOF) certification organization. Please note that the silt used to make this product has NOT been screened, so you may find a few rocks and/or lumps of clay.
