Please note:

We can ONLY deliver in “whole” cubic yard amounts (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4 yd, etc.). We can NOT deliver in “partial” cubic yard amounts.

During the busiest part of our delivery season (typically during the last two weeks of April and the first two weeks of May), our standard delivery zone includes towns within a roughly 1/2 hour drive of Burlington or Charlotte in Chittenden County and Northern Addison County, Vermont.

If you live in a town that’s just slightly outside this standard delivery zone, you can either:

  • Contact us by phone or e-mail to schedule a time to come to our compost site in Charlotte to have us load your truck or trailer, OR;
  • Submit an order form from this website and we’ll let you know if and when we can fit this delivery into our schedule.

If you live in a town that’s far outside this standard delivery zone, you can either:

  • Find another compost supplier who will deliver to your town, OR;
  • Contact us by phone or e-mail to schedule a time to come to our compost site in Charlotte to have us load a truck or trailer.

After SUBMITTING this order form, you’ll receive an automated reply with a copy of the information that you’ve provided, and an automatically generated price, including the delivery cost. However, if you do not receive this automated reply, your order was not transmitted (probably because you didn’t click “Submit”, or didn’t fill out a required “field”) and therefore you should either try again, or send an e-mail to steven@cvcompost.com to provide the information that we need to complete this order.

As it gets close to the earliest or latest delivery date that you’ve specified, we’ll call or e-mail to give you the exact delivery day, and confirm that the driveway access will be clear, the dump location will be clearly marked, and a tarp will be out if you wanted us to dump onto one.

If you're a novice gardener, we recommend that you read our short article "Getting Started - Tips for the Novice Gardener" to help ensure your gardening success.

If you have any questions, please contact us.

Please note that this order form functions best when used with Safari.
Fields marked with an asterisk* are required.

Since you've selected a town that is slightly outside of our normal delivery zone, delivery will be on a case-by-case basis determined by quantity, other orders in the area, and how busy we are. We'll be in touch to discuss details.

Alternatively, you can contact us by phone or e-mail to schedule a time to come to our compost site in Charlotte for a pick-up.

If your town doesn't appear on this list, you’ll either need to find another compost supplier who will deliver to your town, or contact us by phone or
e-mail to schedule a time to come to our compost site in Charlotte for a pick-up. If your town isn't on this list, you do NOT need to finish filling out this form.

If you don’t know whether Farm-Crafted Compost™, Lawn/Flower Mix™, or Raised Bed Mix™ would be best for your application, you can read a description of these three products and how they’re used here.

If you aren’t sure how much product to purchase, you can use this quantity calculator.

Since our truck can only hold 10 yards of Farm-Crafted Compost™ per load, multiple deliveries will be required. Enter custom amount below.

If you are considering purchasing either the Lawn/Flower Mix™ or the Raised Bed Mix™ AND Farm-Crafted Compost™, please note that both topsoil products already contain about 65% compost, so these Topsoil Plus products do NOT need any additional compost.

Since our truck can only hold 8 yards of Raised Bed Mix™ per load, multiple deliveries will be required. Enter custom amount below.

Custom amount of Topsoil-Plus Raised Bed Mix™ needed *

Added Fertilizer: As explained on the Product Description page, each 1 yd of Raised Bed Mix ordered comes with 1 lb Pro-Booster organic fertilizer.

Protect your investment with weed barrier/fabric: Since you're investing time and money to create a raised bed, if the bed is at least 10 inches deep, we  recommend that you install a double layer of weed barrier/fabric BEFORE filling the bed. The first layer of the fabric should extend 1 to 2 feet beyond the bed, while the second layer should be used to line the inside of the bed. This will significantly reduce the risk of the bed becoming infested with the roots from trees and/or invasive weeds that spread via their roots and are virtually impossible to remove once they become established. However, if your raised beds are only 4 or 5 inches tall, you should NOT use the weed barrier since it will impede the growth of many garden plants whose roots grow deeper than 4 or 5 inches.

In order to make the delivery process as smooth as possible, please answer the following questions.

Since you've indicated the number is not clearly visible on a mail box, or on the house from the road, please provide instructions to help the driver identify the correct house below *
Since you've indicated you have a shared driveway, please include instructions to help the driver find the correct house below *
Since you've indicated someone needs to be home for delivery, please provide a delivery time preference below *

Thanks for letting us know. A day or two before the delivery, we’ll call or e-mail to schedule the specific time.

Since you've indicated that you want the load dumped on your driveway, please describe how the dump spot will be marked *

Since you've indicated your preferred dump location is OFF the driveway, please answer a few more questions so we can ensure a smooth delivery.

Please describe the route to reach the dump spot *
Dump location identification: Please describe how will you identify the dump location so it’s obvious to the driver *
Soft ground: In case the ground is too soft for the delivery truck to reach without creating ruts, please describe an alternative (Plan B) dump location *
Overhead wires, tree branches, and/or roof overhangs: Is it possible there could be tree branches and/or overhead wires that could be hit by the truck cab (which is around 8 ft tall and 9 ft wide) on the route to the dump location, or when the material is being off-loaded from the raised dump body (which is around 16 ft tall)? *
Please describe an alternative (Option B) dump location so the driver knows exactly where to dump the load if they encounter tree branches and/or overhead wires that are in the way *
Side-to-side clearance: Is it possible there’s less than 9 feet clearance from side-to-side through gates, between buildings, trees, bushes, roof overhangs, etc. *
Please describe an alternative (Option B) dump location so the driver knows exactly where to dump where there’s more than 9 ft clearance side-to-side *
In-ground obstructions or safety concerns:  Is it possible there could be well heads, frost-free hydrants, leach fields, septic tanks, buried fuel tanks, etc. that the truck will need to avoid along this route? *
Please explain how these in-ground obstructions will be clearly marked/identified *
Side hills/sloped ground: Due to the risk of the truck tipping over and/or the dump body breaking if the two back wheels are at different heights during dumping, is the dump location on a side hill or sloped ground? *
Please describe an alternative dump location we can use if the driver determines that the side hill is too steep to dump the load safely *

Thanks for letting us know. We'll be in touch on the scheduled day to make sure you have time to move the car.

Minimum Tarp WIDTH: To avoid spillage off the tarp, please note that the tarp will need to be at least 12 ft wide.

ORIENTATION of Tarp:  To minimize spillage, the tarp should be laid out PERPENDICULAR to the truck, NOT in line with the truck because the compost or topsoil makes a pile that’s WIDER (ie side-to-side) versus LONGER (ie. front to back).
